Marie is a Transforming Lives Awardsrecipient and frequent public speaker on behalf of CAMH, raising awareness of mental health issues.
“I am very honoured to have been selected to be a part of the torch relay and am especially proud to represent both Canada
and those living with mental illness,” Marie says.
“The fact that I have been chosen shows that the veil surrounding mental illness is being lifted one step at a time,” she
adds, “And that the work that many organizations, including CAMH, have done to fight stigma is working.”
Bell Canada initially approached the CAMH Foundation because they value the difference that CAMH as an organization makes
to the well-being of our communities.
“We are very excited that Marie has been selected as a torchbearer to represent CAMH during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch
Relay,” says Darrell Gregersen, President and CEO of the CAMH Foundation, which is engaged in a great deal of community outreach work on CAMH’s behalf
this year.
