Community and Outpatient Program Placements at CAMH

At CAMH, Community and Outpatient programs are a great way for volunteers to gain front line exposure in a mental health and/or addiction setting. Community and Outpatient volunteers engage and interact with our clients in a wide array of settings.

Volunteers in the Community and Outpatient Program provide social and recreational support to outpatient clients at CAMH and in the community. This may include accompanying clients to community-based social groups, going shopping, seeing movies together, visiting art galleries or simply meeting for coffee. Volunteers are also involved in tutoring programs and activity groups. All outpatient positions require a minimum of a year commitment. Assignments range from 1.5 hours to 4 hours per week.

Positions in the Communality and Outpatient Program include:

Asperger’s Activity Group Volunteer
1-1 Community Social Support
Tutors
Computer Tutors
Yoga Groups
Fitness/Sports Group
