Care and Treatment at CAMH
CAMH provides high quality, client-centred care to meet the diverse needs of people facing addiction and mental health challenges
at different stages of their lives and illnesses, from children to seniors. Clinical services include assessment, brief interventions, inpatient/ residential programs, continuing care, outpatient/ambulatory
services, and family support.

There are 10 major clinical care programs at CAMH:
- Addictions Program
CAMH’s Addictions Program offers services for people affected by drug or alcohol problems, gambling, smoking or other addictions,
including those who have a concurrent mental health problem. CAMH provides a wide range of specialized services, including
withdrawal management, residential treatment, outpatient services, counseling sessions for clients and for family members,
as well as other services, all in a motivational and supportive environment that starts from where you are. More...
- Centralized Assessment, Triage and Support Program (CATS)
CATS provides specialized emergency, assessment and short-term treatment and support services for people with mental illness
or addictions, and coordinates further services for clients both inside and outside CAMH. More…
- Schizophrenia Program
Through its 200+ inpatient beds and 15 outpatient clinics, the Schizophrenia Program provides care at all stages of the illness.
Services include prevention, treatment for first episode psychosis, medication assessment, monitoring and management of co-occurring
metabolic problems or substance use problems, rehabilitation, and care for the severely and persistently mentally ill. More…
- Mood and Anxiety Program
Provides inpatient and outpatient services to clients with major depression, bipolar disorder (manic depressive illness),
anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders. More…
- Law and Mental Health Program
For people with mental illness who have come into contact with the law, this program provides assessment, treatment rehabilitation,
security management, community supervision, consultation and specialty services. More…
- Geriatric Mental Health Program
For persons 60 years of age and older with mental health and addiction problems, this program provides specialized, interprofessional
assessment, treatment, consultation, and follow-up services. More…
- Child, Youth and Family Program
Provides intensive and specialized services for young people with mental health and/or addiction problems. More…
- Women's Program
This program primarily serves women who have a history of trauma in combination with a diagnosis of mental illness. More…

Serves people who have a both a developmental delay and a mental health problem, as well as their families and their care

- Community Support and Research Unit (CSRU)
CSRU works on housing, income, employment and social supports for clients, recognizing that these ‘social determinants of
