Community and Social Supports
Community and social supports create the foundation of recovery in people living with mental illness and in allowing for positive
changes in the lives of people who use substances.
These can take many forms including:
The Community Support and Research Unit (CSRU) focuses on these areas through advocacy, community development, direct service, partnership development, program planning, evaluation and research . CSRU is also involved in a wide range of international projects related to community and social supports and provides leadership in coordinating Early Intervention and Family-Centred Care initiatives at CAMH.
